Birds in the Snow
Celery
Cream Cheese
Chopped Nuts
Raisins
Sesame or Sunflower seeds
Let the children help make these treats for snack time. Cut celery
stalks into short lengths and fill them
with cream cheese "snow." Have the children place chopped nuts and raisins
on top of the cheese
to represent birds. Then let them sprinkle on sesame or sunflower seeds
for birdseed.
Bird Nest Salad
1 grated carrot
1/2 cup crispy chow mein noodles
mayonnaise
peas or grapes
lettuce leaf (optional)
Mix grated carrot with crispy chow mein noodles. Add enough
mayonnaise to moisten.
For each salad, place a mound of the mixture on a plate and push
the back of a spoon down
into the center to form a "nest." Add peas or grapes for eggs. If desired,
form each nest on top
of a lettuce leaf. Makes 2 salads.
