Alligator Bulletin Board Ideas
See Ya Later,
Alligator - End of School Countdown
Count down
the last five days of school. In advance, plan at least one
alligator activity for each of the last 5 days of school. Cut out
five
construction paper alligators. Write the number 5 on one alligator;
then flip it over and write the alligator activity planned for the first
day of the countdown. Program the next alligator with the number
4 and the activity planned for the second day of the countdown.
Program the remaining alligators in a similar manner so that
each one is labeled with a different activity and number 1 to 5.
Use pushpins to mount the alligators on a blue paper display.
During circle time, invite the children to chant the following:
"How
many days are left in school?
Let's count the alligators in the pool.
Have the
children count the alligators on display and then say how
many days remain. Invite a child to find the alligator with that
number and remove
it from the display. Then read aloud the activity written on the
back of the alligator.
Preschool
Memories
Drop a
spoonful of green fingerpaint on a sheet of paper and then
sprinkle some sand onto the paint. Invite the child to mix the
sand into the paint and create a textured finger painting. When
the paint is dry, cut out an alligator shape from the paper. Have
the child glue on wiggly eyes and white construction paper teeth.
Invite the child to describe a favorite school memory. Write
his/her response on a white paper speech bubble. Mount each child's
alligator and speech bubble on a bulletin board titled, "See You Later,
Alligator!"
