Act out the
story with the children...to help them "feel" the
part, give each child a picture of
the character, which has a yarn necklace, attached that they can wear
around their necks.
Gingerbread Person
For each child, cut a large ginger bread person
shape out of brown paper.
Glue it to the front of a
large brown grocery sack. Cut a face hole in the
ginger
bread person head and cut arm holes on the sides
of the grocery sack.
Let your children decorate their
costumes with ribbons, buttons and scraps of
fabric or
paper. Now Recite the following poem when each child
is wearing their costume.

Play House
Cut a large
appliance box to from the house's roof, door and windows.
Cut six inch wide strips of brown craft paper to match the lengths of
your house's walls.
Then cut or die cut a large supply of candy canes, peppermint disks,
candy hearts,
gumdrops, and circles from construction paper. (Add a letter "m" to
the circles so they
resemble M&M candies.) Give each child a brown paper strip and
encourage her to form
a simple pattern with candy cutouts. Glue the cutouts in place; then
glue the finished strips
to the walls of the house. Finish the decoration by attaching strips
of white bulletin board border to all the edges to resemble icing.
