Halloween Bulletin Board Ideas
Going "BATTY" Over Halloween
(Photo submitted by Denise)
I love making these with the kids. They paint egg
cartons...cut into sections of two.
This year we added big wiggle eyes to the tip of the cartons. This tied in
nicely with
my letter of the week too--Ee. Lots of eyes looking at us. We help them
glue the
cartons to paper bat shapes and then added them to a huge moon in the hall.
It came out great this year!
Boo Who?
Who's that friendly ghost?
That's the question your little ones and their
parents will be asking when passing this "boo-tiful" hallway display.
In advance,
take a photo of each child holding a "Boo" sign. For each child, cut
out a pair
of identical ghost shapes from white construction paper; then staple them
together along the top. Program the front of each pair along with a
different
child's Boo Clue, as shown. Then glue that child's photo to the
inside. Arrange
the ghosts in a hallway display so that they can be viewed easily.
Invite
parents to read each Boo Clue, guess who the child is, and then
check their guesses by peeking under the ghost cover.
Inside cover: Ghosts are scary. Ghosts say
"Boo!" But this little ghost
Is special to you. Open it up and you will see, Who this ghost,
Really could be!
Example, Boo Clue: Pepper is my dog!
Go Away Big Green Monsters
(Photo submitted by Shell)
With my older preschoolers, I usually do a day on Monsters.
We talk about how monsters
are NOT real. The kids make up "monster" stories
and we read the book "Go Away Big Green
Monster" by Ed Emberley. Afterwards, we create these
monsters. I precut all the pcs. beforehand.
Bat Cave Display
To create this eerie bat habitat, attach crumpled black bulletin
board paper to the wall
around your doorway. Prepare a cardboard sign (that says, "BAT CAVE").
Then insert
the sign into a gravel filled can placed near the doorway.
Display student painted
bats around the entrance along with bat facts or student comments/quotes.
