Bells Misc. Ideas & Links

Jingle Rings

Slip three or four medium to large jingle bells on a two inch binder ring (available at
office supply stores).  Snap the ring closed and you are ready for some jingle bell fun.

OR

Instead of using binger rings, you can also use a pipe cleaner.
After adding the jingle bells, bend the pipe cleaner into a bracelet shape.

Christmas Chain

Near the beginning of December we have the children make
paper chains with  enough links to make one for each day leading up to
Christmas. (Sometimes we have to help them a little to get enough links.)
We attach the chains to a paper bell to which we attach the following:

How many days till Christmas?
It's mighty hard to tell
Take off a link every night
When the Sandman cast his spell
And Christmas Eve will be here
By the time you reach the bell.

The children take the chains home and are told to take off
one link every night to count down the days until Christmas.

Polar Express

Using the Polar express is also good for bells. I found some really cute silver bells at dollar tree.
The kids each get a ticket to ride the polar express. I put a note on the pack to parents telling
them to have children come to school that day in Pj's. Chairs are set up like a train with a bell
taped to the bottom of each. Hot Coco & mini donuts and the story the polar express are a must.

Musical Bells

Listen to music that features bells as a prominent instrument.
"Carol of the Bells" is a popular example.

Snack Time Idea

During snack, let your children take turns being a waiter.  Have
the other children call the waiter to the table by ringing a bell.
