Camping Bulletin Board Ideas

Color Tents

Construct several tents out of tag board and color them using primary colors. Make an identical
set out of white tag board and print the corresponding color names on this set. Laminate the materials.
Staple the tents with the color names onto the bulletin board. Children can attach the
colored tent to the corresponding color word. You can use Velcro or sticky tac to do this.

Camping Bulletin Board

Another bulletin board idea that is more for decoration purposes would be to put a large tent in
the middle of the board. Add figures of boys and girls who are dressed for camping. I added backpacks
and a walking stick for fun. Make a campfire with a child in front roasting marshmallows on a stick.
Let your imagination lead you to make further additions as space permits and as you see fit.

Who’s Sleeping In The Tent?

Cut 2 triangles out of paper. Slit up the front of the top piece and fold/roll back the flaps to peek inside.
Glue to the second triangle. Take photos of each child at naptime and put them sleeping
in the tent or use their tent projects (found on arts/crafts page) to decorate this bulletin board.

Who Lives in the Forest?

Enlarge a tree pattern or trace child's hand & arm (for your forest of "trees." Let children use markers,
fabric scraps, paper, etc., to create creatures that find shelter in a tree. Suggest that they make various
birds, squirrels, chipmunks, insects, bees/beehive, etc....Place each creature onto the board forest.

Campsite Pics

Collect pictures of different campsites. Display them in the classroom at children's eye level.
